Ipswich Town completed the permanent signing of 19-year-old forward Luca Fletcher during the summer, following his productive loan spell from Manchester City.
The pacey England Under-17 international helped City reach the FA Youth Cup final in both 2024 and 2025. He later caught the eye at Ipswich by scoring six goals in Premier League 2.
Although Fletcher has not yet made his senior debut, he has trained with Ipswich’s first-team squad and impressed new manager Gary O’Neil.
Town appear short of established attacking options after recruiting 22-year-old Brazilian forward Emersonn for £24m and signing Japan international Daizen Maeda from Celtic for £8m.
During their Championship campaign, George Hirst and Spanish loanee Ivan Azon shared the central striking responsibilities.
Hirst, who was an unused member of Scotland’s World Cup squad, managed 11 league goals, while Azon scored five before returning to his parent club, Como.
