His influence was central to Forest’s positive play, even if his contribution may receive less attention than that of the goalscorers.
Bruno Fernandes (Manchester United): Another outstanding display from the captain, who delivered three goals and an assist while also coming close to scoring from inside his own half. His importance to Manchester United cannot be overstated, as the team would be in serious trouble without him.
Rayan Cherki (Manchester City): He is one of the most entertaining footballers in the world. His exceptional technique allows him to control and manipulate the ball with remarkable ease, while his creativity and independent thinking make him unpredictable. His freedom and obvious enjoyment of the game are also a pleasure to watch.
Anthony Elanga (Newcastle): For the second consecutive week, he produced an excellent goal and another impressive performance. He appears revitalised under his current manager and is beginning to resemble the player who caused so many problems for defenders at Nottingham Forest. His speed is such a threat that opponents become concerned even before he begins to accelerate.
Yoane Wissa (Newcastle): He deserves inclusion despite being placed in a slightly unfamiliar role, as the central forwards scored more goals and arguably performed better. Wissa has nevertheless been crucial to Newcastle’s strong form, particularly because of his effort and commitment, which have not received enough recognition. His impact has been so significant that the club could even consider selling Woltemade.
