Valencia have dismissed head coach Carlos Corberan and football chief executive Ron Gourlay following the club’s winless opening to the campaign.
The Spanish club are currently bottom of La Liga after collecting just one point from their first five games.
Corberan, 43, was appointed by Valencia in December 2024 after leaving Championship club West Bromwich Albion.
Valencia B manager Oscar Sanchez will temporarily take charge of the first team.
Valencia suffered a 5-0 defeat against Barcelona last week. They placed ninth in La Liga last season, with Corberan leading them to 12th during his first campaign after arriving when the team were second from bottom.
The members of Corberan’s first-team coaching staff will leave the club as well.
A club statement explained that the move was made as part of plans to start a fresh chapter in the management of its sporting department and football activities.
Valencia added that details of a revised football operations structure and the club’s next sporting project would be revealed soon.
Gourlay, a former Chelsea chief executive who also held a role at West Bromwich Albion, arrived at Valencia in December 2024.
His colleagues Lisandro Isei, Hans Gillhaus, Andres Zamora and Malek Shafei will also depart.
The person chosen to replace Corberan will become Valencia’s 18th permanent manager since 2012.
Valencia are scheduled to face Deportivo Alaves in their next match on Tuesday.
