Juventus Agree Loan Deal for Newcastle Forward Nick Woltemade and Announce Tottenham’s Pape Matar Sarr

News

Juventus have confirmed the signing of Pape Matar Sarr from Tottenham on an initial loan, alongside a season-long loan agreement for Newcastle attacker Nick Woltemade.

The Serie A team will pay Spurs approximately 2.5 million euros (£2.1 million) to take Senegalese midfielder Sarr on loan.

The agreement requires the club to purchase the 23-year-old for 27.5 million euros (£23.6 million) if specified conditions are fulfilled during the 2026-27 campaign.

Sarr moved to Spurs from Metz in 2021 and went on to play more than 100 Premier League matches for the north London side, helping them secure the Europa League trophy in 2025.

Since making his senior international debut in 2021, he has represented Senegal 42 times and was part of the squad that lifted the Africa Cup of Nations in 2022.

The news follows Luciano Spalletti’s team reaching a separate loan agreement for Woltemade, with no clause allowing the transfer to become permanent.

Several European clubs had shown an interest in recruiting the 24-year-old before Tuesday’s transfer deadline, including the Italian team.
